Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the VideoMate browser extension, the videomate.app website, and the related license, checkout, and support services (together, the "Service"). By installing, purchasing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

What the Service Does

VideoMate detects and processes media streams available in your browser, including formats such as HLS, DASH, MP4, MP3, and live streams. Media detection, processing, merging, and downloads are performed locally in your browser. We do not host or provide the third-party media you access with the Service.

The Service may not work with every website, stream, format, or browser. Websites and browsers can change without notice, and we do not guarantee that any particular media will remain available or downloadable.

Your Responsibilities

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and only with media that you own, are authorized to download, or are otherwise legally permitted to use. You are responsible for complying with copyright law, other applicable laws, and the terms of the websites and services from which media is accessed.

You must not:

  • use the Service to infringe copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
  • bypass digital rights management, encryption, paywalls, access controls, or other technical protection measures;
  • interfere with, overload, probe, or compromise the Service or its license systems;
  • share, resell, forge, or misuse license keys, or attempt to evade plan or activation limits; or
  • copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Free and Paid Plans

Some features are available without charge and others require a paid license. The features, limits, and prices shown at checkout when you purchase apply to your order. We may change future prices or plan features, but price changes do not retroactively alter a completed one-time purchase and will apply to a subscription only as permitted by law and after any required notice.

A license is personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable. It allows you to use the applicable paid features on the number of activations supported by the Service. A "lifetime" license is a one-time license for the supported lifetime of the product, not the lifetime of any individual, and does not guarantee that the Service will be available forever.

Payments, Renewals, and Cancellation

Payments are processed by the payment provider displayed at checkout. Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the billing interval shown at checkout until canceled. You authorize the payment provider to charge the payment method on file for each renewal, including applicable taxes. You can cancel through the customer portal linked from the Service. Cancellation stops future renewals; paid access generally continues through the end of the current billing period.

Refund Policy

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for purchases made through the Service. To request a refund, email support@videomate.app within 7 days of the original purchase and include enough order information for us to locate it. Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method. This policy does not limit any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable law.

Updates and Availability

We may update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain security, compatibility, legal compliance, or the Service generally. Browser permissions may be required for stream detection and downloads. Your browser or extension store may install updates automatically under its own settings and terms.

Third-Party Services

The Service interacts with third-party websites and may be distributed or supported through browser stores, payment processors, and infrastructure providers. We do not control those third parties, their content, availability, or practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that party's terms and policies. VideoMate is not affiliated with or endorsed by the websites from which you choose to access media unless expressly stated.

Ownership and Feedback

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and site content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant only the limited right to use the Service described above. If you send feedback, you permit us to use it without restriction or compensation.

Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR COMPATIBLE WITH EVERY WEBSITE OR STREAM.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY ONLY TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to paid features if you violate these Terms, misuse a license, fail to pay applicable fees, or create risk or legal exposure for us or others. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms here and update the revision date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when reasonably required. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
